THINGS I PONDER 13

EXTRACTIONS FROM MY TATTERED JOURNAL:
“Dead men tell no tales.” Not so, sometimes a corpse is as good as a confession. Some die with a sense of surrender and peace, looking forward with faith to seeing Jesus and old friends and family. Others are taken fighting and screaming from this veil of tears in the grips of anger turned inward and a guilt never to be healed. The dying die with the state of their souls frozen upon their faces.
Love is a mystery I may never fully understand. When love is in small measure it tends to evaporate and you wonder if it was love at all. When love is overflowing, you can contemplate nothing else, as if it contains within itself everything that matters. It can cause laughter and tears all at the same time. Love brings about the greatest joy we will ever know. Unfortunately, every heart that loves must know the pain of being pierced by a sword.

Hi Father Joe, I just wanted to let you know I used a phrase from your journal entry in a poem, posted on my blog http://helenl.wordpress.com/2008/02/21/and-in-heaven-the-frozen-shall-be-thawed-comments-welcome/
