Life is short. Michael Jackson and I were the SAME AGE. We were of the same generation and yet in so many ways, very different. It is said that he refused to grow up… I guess now he is timeless. He was a flesh-and-blood Peter Pan. Those who mocked him, will now feign support and praise. Those who depended upon him will search out all the secret places where he might have hidden his wealth. Those who loved him will weep. And those who viewed him as a gifted but damaged human being will lament that we could not have done more to save him. He feared dying young like Elvis Presley; but that is what has happened. His family have lost a son, a brother and a father. I will never forget the first time I saw him with his brothers on the Ed Sullivan Show. Years later, he amazed me on the Motown Special as a dancing and singing wizard. How did he really do that Moondance? Goodbye, MJ. You confused and upset and entertained us.
May you know God’s mercy.
